Lily b. 1888 Busselton #617 d. 09/10/1974 Bassendean f. Robert Coutts m. Charlotte Augusta Mason Sergeant Albert Victor Thomas MM 4921, 2nd Pioneer Battalion Albert was listed as a carpenter on enlistment. He was 65kg and 178cm with brown hair and blue eyes. Albert
was awarded the Military Medal: During
the operation on 3rd October 1918, incidental to the capture of the
Beaurevoir Line, north of St. Quentin, this NCO (Sergeant Albert Victor
Thomas) was with a platoon detailed to closely follow the advance and
clear and repair the road through and beyond Estrees. Heavy shelling was
encountered and after his platoon officer had been wounded Sgt Thomas
took charge, reconnoitred the road, allotted the requisite tasks to
parties in the sectors and supervised them till completed. Albert
